Meet Dr. Wiggins
Dr. Wiggins is a
Diplomate of the
American Board
of Oral and
Maxillofacial
Surgery.
Dr. Wiggins is a native Texan.  He earned a Bachelors of Business
Administration from
Southern Methodist University at age 19.  He
then worked in the business community for 4 years before deciding
to attend dental school.  Dr. Wiggins earned his Doctor of Dental
Surgery (D.D.S.) degree from
Baylor College of Dentistry.  Dr.
Wiggins was awarded membership in the Baylor Odontological
Honor Society and the
Omicron Kappa Upsilon national honor
society.

Following dental school, Dr. Wiggins completed a six year
M.D.-integrated oral and maxillofacial surgery residency. During
this time he completed 36+ months of oral and maxillofacial surgery
rotations, earned his Doctor of Medicine (M.D.) degree from
UT-Houston Medical School, and earned a certificate in general
surgery by completing a general surgery internship.

Dr. Wiggins is licensed by the State of Texas to practice both
medicine and dentistry.  He is a Diplomate of the American Board
of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery and a Diplomate of the National
Dental Board of Anesthesiology.  He has privileges at Christus St.
Catherine Hospital and Memorial Hermann Katy Hospital.  He is a
member of The American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial
Surgeons, The American College of Oral and Maxillofacial
Surgeons, The Texas Society of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons,
The Edward C. Hinds Academy, The American Dental Society of
Anesthesiology, The American Dental Association, The Texas
Dental Association, The Greater Houston Dental Society, and The
American Medical Association.  His professional certifications
include:
Advanced Cardiac Life Support (Instructor and Provider)
Basic Life Support (Provider)
Microsurgery-Basic and Advanced
He has been involved in research in areas ranging from developing
an outpatient anesthesia risk scale to a study developing resorbable
distraction devices to studying the effects of amino acid imbalanced
diets and various nerve transections on weight and appetite.  His
work has been published in journals including The American
Journal of Physiology.

Dr. Wiggins loves oral and maxillofacial surgery, because he is able
to help people in ways he would not otherwise be able to.  

Dr. Wiggins is happily married.  He loves the outdoors, many types
of sports, and spending quality time with his family.  

Dr. Wiggins believes that his relationship with God is the most
important thing in his life. He works with and loves people of all
faiths and those who profess no faith.  He enjoys studying and
discussing the Bible and biblical topics.  He is an active member of
his church.

Dr. Wiggins enthusiastically supports
Tupelo Children's Mansion.
Tupelo Children's Mansion offers both temporary and long-term
care, in a residential group setting, to children in need of a safe and
loving environment. The children live in residential halls that house
between 7 and 12 children and are supervised and cared for by
qualified houseparents. The campus is like a collection of foster
families with each of the residence halls like a foster family with
houseparents as the foster parents.
